Free Parenting Classes

Southwest Florida Stars
It is important for parents to do their homework when determining the best child care setting for their child.
Finding the right fit for your family can be challenging. Southwest Florida Stars is a voluntary program for child care providers who are committed to offering high quality child care services. SWFL Stars can be a helpful way for parents and caregivers to learn more about some of their options in the early care and education settings in the region.
Parent Skill Building and Educational Opportunities
Free “Toddlers to Teens” Parent Education Class and Free Child Care:
An 8-session parent education program. This class does not require a referral and is designed for voluntary or court-ordered clients. Parents will learn about nurturing discipline techniques, how to build self-worth in themselves and their children, stress and anger management, feelings recognition and expression, among other topics. Classes are taught in a small group setting using video and hands-on activities. Family activity with the children follows the group work to operationalize the concepts covered in class. Certificates award.
