Opening Available for Reimbursement Specialist
Salary: $17.79/hourly Pay Grade: 3
Essential Functions
- Processes, audits, and corrects reimbursement payments for childcare providers applying attendance data available in the statewide data system
- Addresses provider reimbursement questions
- Processes reimbursements using data entered into a statewide website; reviews data, performs attendance audits of prior payments and prior and current months’ adjustments
- Collects and files supporting documentation for recorded data
- Leads assigned activities of the School Readiness (SR) and Voluntary Pre-Kindergarten (VPK) reimbursement process; reviews and oversees final reimbursement payments for adherence to requirements, accuracy, and completeness
- Processes provider reimbursement payment data in the statewide database; reviews and verifies attendance payment documentation per established policies and guidelines, including absences and temporary closures, and verifies adherence to Florida statutes
- Process provider reimbursement data in the statewide database; reviews and verifies attendance payment documentation per ELC policies, including absences and temporary closures, and verifies adherence to Florida statutes
- Reviews School Readiness (SR) and Voluntary Pre-Kindergarten (VPK) provider attendance rosters for accuracy and completeness and processes attendance in compliance with the Coalition’s policies and guidelines of all funding entities
- Receives, reviews, track sign in/out sheets and VPK attendance documentation for completion; ensure dates match attendance marked in the statewide data system; notify providers of discrepancies; provide technical assistance
- Research, reviews, documents, prepares, and processes prior period adjustments to provider issued payments
- Conducts audits and escalates identified and/or potential issues per established policies and procedures
- Compiles and tracks provider payment issues; trains childcare providers on using the statewide data system / provider portal
Minimum Qualifications
Associate degree in accounting, business administration, or related field; supplemented by two (2) years of accounting experience, including accounts payable and bookkeeping activities; or an equivalent combination of education, certification, training, and/or experience.
