Session 3: Braiding Children’s Literature & Social-Emotional Skills with FTL Sharing titles, characters, stories, images, and symbols, should be extended to play-based
activities that support children’s practice and exploration of the concepts raised in the book, including the vocabulary of feelings and self-regulation skills.
During this session, we will provide fun and playful ways to practice social-emotional skills through scenarios, exercises, and games that align with the FTL materials. We will also share
strategies for incorporating vocabulary words that facilitate conversations about problem solving and emotions. We will also use FTL prompts, questions, and vocabulary words before,
during, and after Storytime to encourage children to participate actively. This helps to improve their language skills and cognitive development through thinking and comprehension.
