Preparing Children for Kindergarten Success – Literacy

Using tools and plans in the classroom to support kindergarten readiness.  Strategies will include collaboration with a public school kindergarten teacher with examples of resources for language and literacy development.  Florida Early Learning and Development Standards for Language and Literacy Components will include:  Listening and Understanding, Speaking, Vocabulary, Sentence and Structure, Conversation, Emergent Reading, Emergent Writing and how skills taught in Pre-K will scaffold for kindergarten readiness.
