Salary: $16.84 hourly                      Pay Grade: 1

Essential Functions

  • Performs general front office activities; keeps the reception area clean and organized, greets visitors and provides routine assistance, information, and instructions; may assist with translation services for guests
  • Performs data entry, document verification, and file retention activities to assure accuracy and integrity of information for a variety of ELC’s programs and related essential processes
  • Learns to use the statewide database for accessing profiles and verifying the accuracy of information in the statewide database system
  • Learns to provide accurate early learning program information, referrals, and community resources to families
  • Learns Voluntary Pre-Kindergarten (VPK) and School Readiness (SR) eligibility requirements, approval and program enrollment process, and related State of Florida Statutes
  • Facilitates the application process for parents and legal guardians applying for agency services; assists with questions on guidelines and eligibility in accordance with program policies
  • Reviews eligibility documents submitted to identify incomplete applications and/or follow up on rejected applications
  • Schedules and notifies clients of appointments and at-risk status; communicates program requirements, rules, and responsibilities per established policies, procedures, and guidelines
  • Communicates with childcare providers regarding child enrollment, attendance, and eligibility, as necessary
  • Utilizes the statewide system and/or reviews applications to assist clients with waitlist enrollment
  • Receives and maintains a Child Care Resource and Referral (CCRR) Specialist Evaluation Certification; participates in training, workshops, and certification programs offered by the organization and regulatory agencies
  • Supports ELC’s Child Care Resource and Referral (CCRR) service; performs client intake activities per established protocols, provides verbal and hands-on assistance for the family portal, receives and responds to web requests for providers, community resources, and translation services

Minimum Qualifications

HS diploma or GED; supplemented by at least one (1) year of directly related experience; or an equivalent combination of education, certification, training, and/or experience.
