 Salary: $21.79 hourly                      Pay Grade: 5

Essential Functions

  • Coordinates, provides guidance to, and reviews the work of individual contributors in order to accomplish operational plans and results
  • Provides direct oversight to the completion and accuracy of daily activities performed by new department staff
  • Coordinates the services and activities of ELC’s Child Care Resource and Referral (CCRR); ensures a timely and effective response is provided by ELC and a current and accurate listing of community/partner agencies for protection of children in crises is maintained and provided upon request and/or need
  • Keeps up with developments in School Readiness (SR), Voluntary Pre-Kindergarten (VPK), CCRR program changes and legislation; ensures all ELC staff understands legislative changes and related impact on internal activities, procedures, and guidelines
  • Collaborates with ELC’s Directors and Chiefs to design and plan short-term and long-range internal and external department training plans aligned with the organization’s strategy, goals, and identified needs
  • Conducts informational interviews with department staff and develops, initiates, and reviews surveys to evaluate and analyze potential training needs
  • Develops and/or acquires and delivers training presentations and procedural documentation; sources, assesses, and recommends digital, visual, audio, and multi-media course materials
  • Presents information with a variety of adult instructional techniques including but not limited to, e-learning, digital presentations, team exercises and follow-up discussions, videos, and lectures; adapts instructional methods to meet the needs of department staff
  • Schedules and assigns department employees to training programs and communicates all pertinent information and details; coordinates enrollment/registration for external programs
  • Writes, updates, and presents procedural documents for Program Services to management for approval
  • Generates and submits reports and/or presentations pertaining to department internal training and certification activities and data
  • Audits School Readiness (SR) and Voluntary Pre-Kindergarten) (VPK) files to ensure compliance with State of Florida statute, administrative code, and local and state policies and procedures
  • Serves as the departmental liaison with Risk Management for client appeals
  • Determines family eligibility for School Readiness (SR) and Voluntary Pre-Kindergarten (VPK) Program; completes and collects required documentation to verify income, family size, birth dates, and related forms and information; uses the statewide database to determine parent fees at time of intake and/or redetermination appointment per established policies, procedures, and guidelines
  • Conducts client interviews and educates parents on all program determination and re-determination requirements, rules, and responsibilities determination per established policies, procedures, and guidelines
  • Responds in person, by phone and email to clients for a variety questions, concerns, and information related to SR and Voluntary Pre-Kindergarten (VPK) applications and wait lists
  • Interacts with providers regarding enrollments, attendance, purpose of care, transfers, household income changes, suspension, and terminations of care, providing technical assistance with certificate requests; ensures timely and accurate processing of all associated changes in each applicable record

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in public or business administration, communications, human or social service, or related field; supplemented by four (4) years of directly related experience and one (1) year of lead worker assignment; or an equivalent combination of education, certification, training, and/or experience.
